By using this site you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We have written this to be readable, which does not make it any less binding.

      What this site is

Explore Pawleys Island is an independent editorial guide. We are not a government body, not a tourism bureau, not a chamber of commerce, and not an agent for any business listed here. Nothing on this site is an offer or a booking on behalf of a third party.

      Listing information comes from Google

Business names, addresses, telephone numbers, opening hours, ratings, review counts and photographs are mirrored from the Google Places API and refreshed on a schedule. We do not write them and we cannot guarantee them. Hours change, businesses close, and a listing can be wrong at the source. Call ahead before you rely on any of it. If you find an error, tell us and we will re-sync or hide the record, but the authoritative fix usually has to happen on the business's own Google listing.

A listing on this site is not an endorsement, a certification, or a statement that a business is licensed, insured or safe. Where we do offer an opinion, we label it as ours.

Tide, weather and fishing information: read this part

Tide predictions and water temperature come from NOAA gauges and are reproduced here for general interest and trip planning. Tide predictions are predictions. Actual water levels vary with wind, barometric pressure, rainfall, river discharge and storms, sometimes substantially.

This information is not for navigation. Do not use it to navigate a vessel, to decide whether a channel or bar is passable, or to make any decision where being wrong could hurt somebody. Use official NOAA charts and publications, current local notices to mariners, and your own judgement.

Our fishing guidance describes long standing local practice, not law. Size limits, creel limits, closed seasons and licence requirements are set by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, they change, and it is your responsibility to know and follow the current rules. We deliberately do not reprint limit numbers here, because a stale number is worse than no number.

The ocean, the inlet and the creek are genuinely dangerous. Rip currents, boat traffic, lightning, heat, cold water, alligators in fresh and brackish water, and sudden weather are all real. You swim, paddle, wade, fish and boat at your own risk. Watch posted flags and signs, and follow lifeguards and local authorities over anything you read here.

      Acceptable use
